
ABOUT
Trevor Gerhardt completed his doctoral studies in Education at Canterbury Christ Church University. His primary research interests are professional development and transformative learning in work integrated learning and adult educational contexts.
Trevor have a keen interest in the confluence between the work by Dewey and Moon on reflection, Mezirow and Taylor on transformative learning and Berry and Klinchoe on bricolage research methodology.
He has 20 years of experience in the third sector and 10 years of experience in university academic management, teaching and research. He held an undergraduate and postgraduate program director position from 2011 to 2017.
As academic program director, he provided leadership in all academic matters and developed and implemented strategies to enhance work integrated programs and curriculum as well as new approaches to placements.

He was the Project Lead at GSM London, playing a leading role in planning and implementing business sector projects and placements and providing strategic advice and guidance on academic issues. Trevor served on the academic faculty and ethics boards. He was the Academic Lead for Work Integrated Learning at Pearson College London and a free-lance academic at Birkbeck University, the University of Kent, UniCAF and the University of Essex Online. He is now Reader and Director of Studies at Kent Business School. He was an external examiner for the University of Brighton and is still at the University of Gloucestershire.
